I haven't had too much need to force quit apps since Jag, but the red lettering never appeared before to me. Obviously, tonight, when I've had to suddenly force quit many apps in succession, I noticed it and it was new, which is why I bothered to mention it. I'm very fastidious about my Macs and that's why I noted it. It wasn't ever in red before and I've been running Jag since about when it came out. 2. Even, "uhm", since it's been supposedly "out for a while", the red lettering wasn't out exclusively even tonight under 2.4. As I said in my previous post, teh first time I tried to force quit an app- it wasn't in red, nor would the app quit. Only after I immediately tried the second time on the same non- responding app, would the name show up in red. However, the dialogue over the icon in the dock reported that the app was not responding even in the absence of a red name in the force quit box. So, in summation, uhm, whatever evokes the red name in the force quit dialogue, apparently isn't the same on my system as it in on yours, nor has it ever appeared on my machines before for whatever reason- maybe 3rd party apps. dave -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
