I still don't really know of course, this is kinda above my head - so far . . . Specific to the original question: "PowerBook: Information About ROM-in-RAM", "The PowerBook G3 Series (Bronze keyboard), PowerBook (FireWire), and PowerBook G4 use ROM-in-RAM (NewWorld ROM)." <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58342> "What is Open Firmware?": <http://www.firmworks.com/www/ofw.htm> Apple's OF dev and info site: <http://bananajr6000.apple.com> a links page there: <http://bananajr6000.apple.com/OF/technotes.html> dev technotes - fundamentals of OF - in 3 parts: <http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/pdf/tn1061.pdf> <http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/pdf/tn1062.pdf> <http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/pdf/tn1044.pdf> "Open Firmware User Interface Commands and Examples": <http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/hardware/DeviceManagers/pci_srvcs/pci_ cards_drivers/PCI_BOOK.64.html> here's a nice list of OF commands, from "Apple Network Server 500,700: Open Firmware Read Me", useful still: <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60285> security and OF: <http://www.macosxlabs.org/documentation/firmware_security/intro.html> <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106482> Similar to the Apple OF page: <http://www.openfirmware.org/1275/home.html> Forth, the language of OF, if you care to dig even deeper!: <http://www.forth.org/> <http://www.taygeta.com/forth/dpans.html> some docs you can buy: <http://www.firmworks.com/open_fw/liter/ofcmdref.txt> PowerComputing products & OF: <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=36386> That's it for now, hth, : -) Dan K -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
