All PCI Macs have OF, PBs 2400 and 3400 were the first PCI-based
PowerBooks, the G3 Series (Bronze keyboard) was the first NewWorld ROM
PowerBook.

Apple's definition - "Open Firmware-Open Firmware is a cross-platform
firmware standard for controlling hardware and is used by all PCI-based
Mac OS computers. You can start up in Open Firmware when troubleshooting."

I've been poking around OF pages lately, trying to get a handle on what
the heck one can do with OF. I still don't really know of course, this is
kinda above my head - so far . . .

Specific to the original question: "PowerBook: Information About
ROM-in-RAM", "The PowerBook G3 Series (Bronze keyboard), PowerBook
(FireWire), and PowerBook G4 use ROM-in-RAM (NewWorld ROM)."
