We have two G3 Macs on an Airport network at home, and the first thing I
bought for both was an "XLR8" scroll-wheel mouse. (Just thinking about that
hockey puck that came with the iMac makes me shudder.)

I bought an Apple Pro keyboard to use with my Pismo in desktop mode, but was
very disappointed to see that the corresponding mouse (while I like the feel
and the look of it) did not finally come with a scroll wheel.

As Tillz rightfully points out, a scroll wheel makes life on the web a much
more pleasurable experience for many. And once you get used to it, it's
really annoying to have to use a friend's machine for web browsing (whatever
the platform) when their mouse lacks a scroll wheel.

Personally, I never use the second button, but that little wheel is my best
friend online. And Apple could easily incorporate a scroll wheel into their
current one-button mouse. It wouldn't really violate their design
philosophy, but would add a wonderful tool for any user who chose to take
advantage of it.
