It is UNCONSCIONABLE for Apple to have not provided a scroll wheel. Especially for a company that knows a thing or two about design and inadvertently OR intentionally introduced a step forward in ergonomics with the goose-necked new iMac.
Until a better interface becomes available and standard, Apple should consider branding a better mouse.
Period.

Don't spose you know the reasons behind the one button mouse do you?

Not asking because I don't know but asking because that is the same reason extended to having no scroll wheels.

David

I don't know the reasons. I assumed that maybe the old mac operating systems had key combinations or drop downs that provided some of the same options as a two button...sort of like holding the mouse down over a jpeg/GIFF image and getting the options to "save as", etc.
There's so much content to cover when web browsing or reading that it's really frustrating to not have a wheel.
The optical mouse must have seemed cool when it was introduced and it is nicely styled like any Apple product (even the eMac) but I assume it won't be considered acceptable by Apple's marketers for much longer. That's unless expects users to replace the mouse as a matter of fact.
I do like obsolete/vintage hardware for the sake of its industrial design. The original Bondi and fruit colored hockey pucks are nice eye candy!
Once Apple gets souped up with new processors, a new mouse hopefully won't be far behind.
