I assume you tried running off the battery anyway? I have a Pismo battery that acts the same way (i.e., only one LED blinking) but gives me 2+ hours in OS 9.2.2. It does show up in the Apple battery charging control strip module and in My Battery PPC, which both show it charging and fully charged. Weird, but works.
