if it were your DSL or your Netgear, it would happen to all email accounts regardless of all other factors. it's also nothing wrong with the iBook - otherwise her .Mac wouldn't be able to send large attachments, either.
what message do you get when it rejects large messages?
Both programs seem to just about send the message and then after a minute or two I get either of the following messages:
Mail give me the message:
The outgoing mail server "mail.alltel.net:androse" failed to deliver this message. An error occurred while delivering this message via the SMTP server "(null)":
It then asks if I would like to try sending via a different account.
Bingo. Check to see that your 'outgoing mail server' address is correct. It's actilng like it's not been given an address.
