I find theJBL has more of a deeper sound, while the Harmon/Kardon is more "crisp" For about $180, the JBL system is a pretty good deal. You get four speakers and a subwoofer that sounds solid. The subwoofer on the JBL system is slightly more powerful than the Harmon/Kardon subwoofer.
