Thanks for the info...the kicker is that my old CapSure card works great, is recognized, and performs admirally but my USB and FIREWIRE (which I used to burn CD very recently) are suddenly UNKNOWN....I stripped down the Wallstreet (twice) and fixed the drive so it now takes cards (with a little nudging) and ejects them (nudge nudge) but won't recognize them as anything but unknown (form and function)....not quite sure what to do at this point....I thought I've read somewhere that the cards might need drivers after updating to 10.2.6 but the CapSure card is designed for OS 9 and no problems exist....I even tried two different firewire cards and both are unknown...the Bluetooth USB adapter that I plug into my USB Cardbus even lights up...so it's getting power.....I'm ready for some voodoo chants but I'm scared that my wife's Gateway will overhear and suddenly morph into a usable machine.....any ideas on a fix besides a new machine (an idea my wife treats with open hostility)...
