I don't know if Lombards are susceptible, but WallStreets can suffer from a failure of 
the magnetic reed switch that senses that the lid is closed. The switch is normally 
actuated by a permanent magnet in the lid. The reed switch on a WallStreet is inside 
the upper case just to the right of the keyboard. Tap on the case in this location and 
see if you can get the switch to open.
