Not sure if this will solve your problem, but you can set the sleep 
mode by going to your System Preferences, then go to Energy Saver.   
Click the Details button on the lower right hand.  You will then see 
the slide controls to set the time when the computer goes to sleep... 
you can set for a min to never.
