Not really. The YDL release cycle not as frequent - at least the major releases. You can get updated versions of the packages when they become available using yum that loads them from the network and installs them. As much as I like OS X it does not offer the same performance as YDL on the same machine although I use it as my primary system due to few applications I need there.
