Select your InBox in your mailbox list and then select "Rebuild Mailbox" from the bottom of the Mailbox menu. This should fix the problem.

Mail is behaving very strangely. After opening it, it works fine for a few minutes, and then refuses to open any new messages. When I select or double click on a message, it just displays, or opens in a new window, the message I previously had selected. This means I can't read new mail without restarting mail. Has anyone else experienced this, or know what's causing it ?
