OT--Help! SSH and VPN on OSX?

Help!  I'm trying to set up a VPN connection that requires SSH to 
connect.  I'm running 10.2.6 on an 800mhz/640mg iBook.  I have the I.P. 
Address and the key pair that I'm told I need, but trying to set up a 
VPN connection via internet connect is going nowhere.

Can anyone suggest other software or the trick to set this up?
