By cable, you mean the data cable from the LCD to the motherboard? Yes,
it was part of the new LCD...I bought the whole thing, plastics
included.

I just bought a new invrter board so I'll try that...that is still
original. If that's it, then I have an extra LCD to keep or sell. If it
isn't...I'm stumped.

And no,  no magnets near.
