As it happens I already knew the difference between the Lombard
and Pismo, but interesting all the same. I will check with Apple System
Info later to ensure that the physical drive actually isn't an LG one,
but I doubt it (as in I'm sure it's the decent one).

I have thought of why the Pismo could have ended up with a
Lombard unit (and it seems so obvious now in hindsight).

I bought the 400MHz (early release) Pismo from a woman who
used to work at a Mac support company and when she'd been
made redundant she'd bought the Mac from the company.

Mac Support = lots of Mac parts... Doh!!
