OK, after more than a week using OSX.2.6 on my 466mhz clamshell, I haven't even accessed the OS9 stuff at all. Can someone tell me which of the files in the applications folder and system folder listed below might well be done without? I don't want to get rid of anything which would affect the operation of a like program in OSX; but on the other hand I would like to lessen the burden on my hard drive.

The only thing I keep on mine is the OS 9 System Folder and the two applications I still haven't updated, Quark (never will) and InDesign ( have to wait till I can update all the Macs at the newspaper.

Nothing in your Applications (OS 9) folder is vital to the operation of your Mac. Just check to see of they are duplicated in the OS X Applications folder, and delete them. Some, like AppleWorks or Acrobat Reader, may be the only copy, with an alias in one application folder or the other.
