Hi listers,
I am upgrading RAM on my GHz TiBook which came with 2 x 256 MB. Since I have to remove both memory modules if I want to go to 1 Gb (or 2 Gb) I will have two RAM modules extra of which one will go in a friend's snow iBook. At first I thought I'd sell the second module but I've been told that I can put this memory module also in the original iMac (Bondi). Can anyone confirm or deny that?
I don't believe so. Looking at Data Memory Systems RAM configurations, the original iMac used the same ram as the Wall Street, which I know is different that that in the TiBook.
They Will fit in a G4 iMac...the user-upgradeable ram in those is the same (while the 'non-upgradeable' Ram dimm is the same as other desktops..oddly enough)

I have some (albeit indirect) experience on this:
1. I can confirm that the original iMac used the same kind of ram as the Wallstreet (PC66 SODIMM); I have actually bought "iMac ram" and used it in a Wallstreet.
2. I too had a spare 256MB ram module from my 1GHz TiBook (Pc133 SODIMM), for the same reason as Boris. I tried it in the lower slot of my wife's Wallstreet and
a) it worked, but
b) only 128MB was recognized (may have to do with "stacked" vs "nonstacked" ram? I am no expert on this)
Judging from my experience, I would say it should work (although caveats, such as 2b) above, may apply).
As to Bruce's comment about the iMac G4, one should be warned that not all iMac G4s use the same ram. Apple switched to DDR ram in some production run of the 1GHz models, so, to make it short, the TiBook ram should probably work in "some" iMac G4s (most or all below 1GHz and some of the early 1GHz), but not all.
