Doh! I was messing about with my one complete Wallstreet (233/512/14")
trying to figure out why it wasn't starting up. Well a bit of fussing,
removed the KB and display, plugged into an external monitor and lo and
behold it booted right up, nice lovely bong, etc. right to the desktop,
all seemed well. Replacing the KB seemed to regenerate the fault, weird
but plausable. So I was putting the display back on, see . . . (with the
battery in place and the AC plugged in) and as I pushed in on the
invertor's connector with a _metal_* screwdriver there was a lil' flash
of sparks . . . (DOH!!)

What it does now that I fried something . . . It boots but there's no
sound except for a sort of hissing. It gets past the happy Mac but then
up pops a message "Problem with ram, contact service" that sort of thing,
with an OK button. Click and proceed to moments later when it freezes
with that horrible nasty rectangular-white-box-with-nothing-inside thingy
. . .

I've got another logic board + processor and more ram and swapping all
those didn't make a whit of diff, nor did changing the HD. Sadly, I long
ago offed the other 'Book's _other_ extra bits, sound/AC card, PMU and
charge card so I no longer have those with which to test. Can anyone
point-with-authority which of those three suspects is the problem item?
I'd rather not buy the most likely (sound/AC) if it ain't gonna fix me
'Book. snif, snif . . .

Many TIAs,

Dan K (*one sorrowful dumbass)
