Cripey, with complete working Zip modulesI have been looking for people who have dead expansion bay modules for Lombard or Pismo systems. Dead CD drives, DVD drives, Zip drives and Hard drive modules. I am going to build myself a couple modules from bare drives, but I need the caddy for the bare drives.
eBuying for ~$20-30 it hardly seems worth the bother. :-)
True... I hadn't seen how low the price has actually gotten...
As for the CD module, eBuy a 20x or 24x CD drive for $20-$50 and there's
yer drive sled (all optical sleds are the same, BTW.) I bet you'll find a
sled quicker that way than asking here (though you might get lucky. :-)
Well, I could use the existing drive's sled, but if I could keep mine intact, all the better.
HD modules are a bit tougher to find . . . I usually got $85 apiece (BIN)
for the nearly 100 VST empties I've eBayed over the last year and a half.
Cheapest way to acquire one is probably to bid/buy a 4 or 6 gigger and
yank the drive. I've seen 4 GB modules sell for under $50, almost worth
it for me to buy actually (to split HD from EBM and resell separately.)
Good point on this as well, just thought I would take a shot at one of these... since the original 4GB in my Lombard is just sitting in an anti-static bag.
