If, as it sounds, it is the AC power cable that died, you can buy those at many electrical supply outlets. I had the same power cord go bad and the replacement was only about 2 dollars. Also, the cord is the same as on MILLIONS of dell ac adapters, so failing other fixes, you might be able to find a dead or surplus Dell power adapter and just keep the power cord.
