Having very little experience on OSX, I'd love to know more about the differences in the way the two OSs handle files...I'm sure I could read up on the web somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a different ball of wax. BTW, under OS 8.1, back in the day, I ran for a long time without problems too...until I came into the living room one day and my son couldn't get the Performa to boot up.
