I used this card on a G3 Powerbook in OS9 without drivers - OK. I also used it successfully in a Titanium PB 800 under OSX without drivers - you will probably need to restart to get the card to function however.
hmm. i tried restarting/shutting down and restarting/unplugging the firewire cable/powering down and powering up the maxtor 5000dv (the firewire drive i'm trying to mount) to no avail.
in os 9 there is a "firewire 2 go enabler" that helps it work. is there a mounting utility? can i do it through the terminal app? are there firewire extensions that i might need to manually install/re-install?
i am using OS 10.2.6, if that has any bearing on this.
Does it work in os 9?
In OS X, it should just work, without any drivers (mine does!). When inserted, an icon should immediately appear on the menu bar. Make sure that you fully insert the card; you may need to apply a little pressure. Also, try it in the other cardbus slot. If it still does not work, maybe there is a problem with the cardbus "cage" or the card itself.
