Interesting. I found the opposite--that the external antenna of the Orinoco card gave somewhat better reception. Also the fan on my Pismo kicks in occasionally since I installed the airport card. Despite these small problems, I've kept the airport card in--I never liked the way the Orinoco card stuck out of the case.
