What was the quote in Latin???? Anyone remember it??? I had 2 years in HS and it was the best experience...Also, as a member of my local school board for over 10 years, I tried to have Latin added to the course offered but we couldn't find a teacher...They are rarer than hen's teeth and the ones out there are all going to the highest paying urban schools...Again, would someone repost the quote, please?
Regards,
Mike

Oh, BTW, I had 3 years of HSchool Latin, 2 were under a lovely lady
named Mrs Aldridge who had a masters from Columbia and studied under
Moses Hadas, foremost Latin scholar of the last century. Now you
cannot find the mother language on the course list in many schools.

Five years of Latin here. Started in 8th grade. Strange as it might sound, Latin was the catalyst of my education.

I envy you guys. When I started school they had just eliminated Latin classes and de-emphasized learning other languages for the most part. I did study Spanish and French but wish I had the Latin base.
