I remember this was a hot topic about one year ago. The final message came
from an engineer on the list. He supported what is on this
batteryuniversity.com web page. If your laptop sits on your desk plugged in
for most of the time, discharge your battery to _40%_ and stick it in the
fridge. For lithium-ion batteries, this is the best way to preserve them
when not in use. (mine is next to the vegetables right now, but in its own
ziplock bag :)
