I did something stupid and created a bit of a problem for myself today.
I decided to move our old Quickbooks Pro accounting file to an older computer to free up the one it used to live on (it's been sitting there doing nothing for months). I backed up the data and then reformatted the drive. Problem arose when I went to run the Quickbooks Pro file on the new (older) computer that I setup as the new accounting backup computer. Quickbooks Pro tells me that it can't open the file because it was created with a newer version of Quickbooks Pro! I checked Intuit.com and the latest version of v4 is 4.0 Release M12A while I have 4.0 Release M11P on the new (older) Mac. To get the update Intuit wants me to call to have a CD sent to me... which is quite irritating but workable... except my accountant needs to access our 2002 accounting data on that machine today.
Okay, this was stupid on my part not to backup the Quickbooks Pro software before I wiped that drive but can I just say how much I detest Intuit? Seriously, this is 2004 not 1991.
If anyone has and would be willing to send me the updater file to update to Quickbooks Pro M12A so our accountant can get into this data file today I would be very grateful... or if anyone has another suggestion...
