I sent my processor off to PowerLogix to have the G3/900 upgrade performed. It was gone about 3 weeks, after which time they sent it back to me because it was taking so long. I still have to send it back off in a week or so after they catch back up.
Regardless, while it was sent off, I took my battery out and left the Pismo sitting. Since it's come back, I've had a really interesting problem. Every couple of days, my sound no longer works. OS X claims that I don't have any sound hardware at all. No startup chime, no nothing. However, if I use the reset button on the back, the sound always works again. Sometimes, zapping the PRAM works too. I was thinking that maybe my PRAM battery went out while it was sitting... but my clock is fine, and I really don't want to drop $40 on a new battery if I don't need one.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what might be causing this and/or a possible solution. I'd hate to think that there's a real hardware problem with it, especially since the sound DOES work for a while.
Thanks for ANY help.
