If your concern is the moose...then you're fine. OSX is quite solid out of the box. Go to the sharing pane and turn off any services you don't use (it defaults pretty much to nothing on, anyway) and make sure the firewall is on. (next tab).
If you're in the boonies, you probably don't have to worry about anyone latching on to your airport signal as someone camping within 100 feet would be noticeable.
All of your online banking,. medical and legal stuff should be done via secure servers, so that's safe.
I'd say sit back and laugh at the moose. It's hard for them to type anything with those hooves, they're more brute-force hackers...;-)
