Hi Listers

Just to let you know that both drives are now functioning OK.

It has to be conflicts. when I booted and bring up extension manager, I selected OS 9.2.2 base.
It continued to boot right on to the desktop with at first the Zip in the RH bay. With media then inserted I was able to view and copy files back and forth. I did the same with the CD - RW and was able to mount a CD onto the desktop.

I then decided to try and burn a disk, so after ticking the Toast extension and rebooting I launched Toast (V4). I copied some files into the box then burned the disc all performed OK.

Next I removed the battery from the LH bay and inserted the Zip, then rebooted and during the boot up it froze. Rebooted again with base OS 9.2.2 and all was Ok zip worked and CD -RW mounted disks onto the desktop, so one of the conflicts is with Toast.

I now have two dedicated sets of extensions to use with the drives and a copy of the base OS to play around with, to perhaps find what else conflicts.

Have a great Easter

Hi Listers

I have a frustrating problem I am unable to solve.

backup etc I decided to add a Iomega(VST) 100 Mb zip drive. Before I
got around to trying to use it an MCE CDRW for the Wallstreet became

You may have old or incorrect zip extensions, a bad cdrw module, or you may have bent or fried an internal connector.

Thanks for the guidance.

May I say that If the the internal connector was fried, the floppy
would not work in the LH bay and the CD rom would not work in the RH
bay, am I correct. But they both do, so why not the Zip in place of
the floppy and the CD RW in place of the CD rom ?. As both units
were tested before being supplied to me, I have to assume it is
extension conflicts as there is no visible bent connectors.

I downloaded drivers from Iomega and MCE sites so will try these to
see if they make the drives perform.

Thanks again.
