I've got copy of Panther which my wife uses on her iBook. Have tried XPoatFacto - but something seems to go wrong during installation. Have an 8 GB partition for OSX; a separate 20 GB partition for Classic; and another 2GB on a removable HD for OS 9.2.2. No luck so far.
Since I bought Panther for my wife I have not tried to get Jaguar. Have 288 MB of RAM (original 32 MB in lower slot and a new 256 MB in upper). Sure would to again find the patch which causes the fan or the Hard Drive top cycle on and off during sleep. This happens only during sleep with battery only - and stops abruptly when the AC adapter is plugger in -----Original Message----- From: Mikael Bystrm <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Apr 21, 2004 1:21 PM To: G-Books <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: WallStreet fan on when asleep in OSX George, [EMAIL PROTECTED] said: >I would try my PDQ with OS X; Make sure to get 256 to 512MB RAM. I ran a PBG3 266 on only 128MB for a while and while that could work for coding, speed was much improved with even as little as 256MB was added. I have 2 new 256 chips coming in now, so that's even better . > my research so far shows >mixed results. Why only 10.1.5? If I was spending I'd rather buy Panther and use XPostFacto 3a14 to install and run it on the wallstreet. Unless you absolutely need (built in) sound in (which is distorted), it's actually better and faster than Jaguar. I'm running it now and it's a beauty and work horse. -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
