I would suspect serious system folder damage, and the airport drivers and CD drivers are hosed. Try running Disk First Aid until it either reports no more errors or it says it can't fix something.
If a lot of files are missing, you might try DiskWarrior, but I suspect your best solution is to boot from your System CD and do a clean install of your OS. I'd be cautious about moving anything over from the old system folder. Preferences, maybe, but it sounds like the crash caused directory damage there.
