I am putting together this old iBook for my father (haven't tried soldering the power-in plug yet), and I am thinking of getting a basic AirPort card.
Is it fully compatible with industry standard 802.11b routers ?

The airport card is not only compatible with 802.11b but 802.11g(at 802.11b speeds) as well. I use my airport enabled iBook with a Linksys AP/ router with no problems.
