You cannot network boot that system; newer macs can be network booted, but only from OS X Server.


Think about it...how are you going to network boot the drive if you have to mount an SMB share to do it? Network booting is very OS-specific.

Your best bet for an emergency backup of that Wallstreet is to back it up to an external SCSI HDD. Then when needed , boot from the external drive and use CCC to kick over the contents.
