I write Micro$oft not to be funny but simply because I find their ambition to dominate every area of computing/multimedia that they operate in so tasteless. ---

No, but at least Apple (at least under the regime of Steve) always do things with a certain style with which I can identify.
Micro$hit has no style! Even PC users agree to that one. And yes, sometimes it is about style, feeling and pride, not just money! ---

Yes, the Siemens 840D machine control system runs Windows. My co-workers hate Windoze as much (if not more) than I do, mainly because they're stuck with it. ---

Have you considered that perhaps the reason your machine crashes is due to poor application installation, systems and applications not being up to date, poor maintenance, and or just bad user practices?
Funnily enough, NO! And I'll tell you why:
It's a brand new PowerBook, fully updated via the vastly superior update function, and installing M$ Orifice isn't quite what I'd call difficult...

Oh, and yes, I have updated Office v.X to X.1.5. ---

I do believe I said in my post that I am forced to use M$ Orifice due to everyone else in the company, and complaining about Micro$oft's products/conduct/lack of style etc. will always be part of being a true Mac fan...
