Yes, if someone figures this out, either with some USB or Firewire option or using Optical cable, I'd love to know. I have a pre-USB Sony Minidisk unit that has an interface and also an Optical cable input but so far as I know I've never found a way to directly interface it with the Mac. That's a double shame too because for the magazine I write for I use this unit as a recoreder during interviews.
