Can I ask which model you use? I chose the Iogear 4-Port USB switch after lots of research and testing. My job gives me the opportunity to test lots of stuff hands on so I used several before settling on this model which was neither close to being the least expensive or most expensive. One great thing about this model is that it has 2 USB ports in front to connect things like a printer or scanner or PDA dock so these devices can be shared too. Here are a few things I learned: some less expensive KVM devices create video artifacting or otherwise lead to poor video. Cable lengths may not be sufficient (but most companies sell cabling separately) so measure your layout carefully and plan ahead. Adding sound/microphone support greatly adds to the price of the KVM switch. I decided I could do without it. On rare occasions when switching between computers the Mac or Windows machine will go to sleep and not wake up. It is as if the USB ports 'forget' that something is connected. Sometimes plugging a USB device directly into the machine will wake it and sometimes not. This is a common complaint among KVM users and doesn't seem to be dependent on which device one owns. Hope this helps. david -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
