I copied 2.3 GB of data (raw format of digital pics, ending with .MRW and
.THM) from a Hitachi 4GB microdrive connected via a Pretec CompactFlash
Adapter (CF+) and it unsurprisingly took 25 minutes. More surprisingly it
took 100% of my CPU doing the copying. 
Anyone what draw this much on the CPU?

As a contrast, copying this over Firewire took less than a few percent
and of course just 4 minutes.
