Subject: Network G4 iBook with PM 7300/500 ??
From: MacAddictvja <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I figured out how to network my PowerMac 7300/500 so it will see my G4
iBook, but the G4 iBook doesn't see the PowerMac 7300/500.

What am I setting up wrong?

Used an Ethernet cable to network the two computers.

Have you turned on AppleTalk in Directory Services (Applications/Utilities) on the iBook? Also make sure it is on in the Network preferences pane. It can only be active on one port at a time, either wired ethernet or Airport.
FWIW, I can't "see" any older OS from my OSX machines either. I have computers running 7.5.5, 7.6.1, 8.1, and 9.2. All of them can see the OSX computers via IP.
