You can certainly install OS 9 after OS X. However, if you could, I would suggest you backup everything you want to keep on the hard disk, then reformat with at least 2 partitions. You want to keep the OS 9 partition at least 1GB in size and the remainder to the OS X partition. Then, you install 9 on the specially created partition and then X on the other partition. The reason for this is that if you ever want to install a new version of OS X from scratch, you can just backup your home directory, then erase the OS X partition and install. You still keep the OS 9 partition intact. On my PowerBook, I always have 3 partitions. In addition to the partitions for OS 9 and OS X, I keep a third partition where I put all non-Apple apps. So, whenever I want to install a new version of OS X, I can go ahead pretty quickly since my 3rd party apps are on a separate partition and I don't need to re-install them if I decide to erase the OS X partition. -Laurent. -- ======================================================================== Laurent Daudelin Developer, Multifamily, ESO, Fannie Mae mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Washington, DC, USA ************************ Usual disclaimers apply *********************** -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
