Your only option for your iBook is the Apple AirPort card. As to the base
station, I've got a snow one a few months ago for around $120 on eBay. I
believe they might have come down in price with the imminent release of
AirPort Express. You could check on AirPort Express to see if it
specifically supports 802.11b or regular AirPort. I think it does, but I'm
not sure. At $129, that's pretty cheap considering what you might end up
paying on eBay for a snow one, unless they significantly dropped in price. I
would recommend you stay away from the first generation AirPort base
stations, known sometimes as the "graphite". Their internal capacitors tend
to blow after a little while. I had 2 of them that I had to replace. So far,
the snow one works fine.
