I don't have any personal experience with GSM and bluetooth, but from what I've read and what one of my friend did, in OS X, bluetooth is built-in, no matter if it is an internal card or a USB device. I could be wrong on this, but I've read information that this is how it works in OS X. Still in OS X, the "Sync" application in Panther seems to have the capability of synchronizing cellphones. I don't know anything about OS 9.
