I have same problem, I have to download mail in both osx and os9 i dont know why

However, logging in today (Friday) 4 days later mac mail shows 553 messages in inbox and 10 mb, so still near the limit.
Why is Mail so slow to sync?
BTW, i bought a 1 gig account (allowing 10 mb emails) from gmail the other day, $4.43 TOTAL.
Apple mail, 15mb, small mail size limit, $100 / year - c'mon Apple.
