In an e-mail to Apple employees, Jobs said that he will take the month of August off to recuperate, and plans to return to work in September. Timothy Cook <http://www.siliconvalley.com/mld/siliconvalley/9299710.htm>, executive vice president for worldwide sales and operations, will handle Apple's day-to-day operations in his absence.
