Check over the warranty coverage. If anything related to the HDD itself is covered, get it (the HDD) replaced. . ."sooner than later". :)

I believe the notebook is still under the warranty (I have never seen it myself, this is the notebook given to me from my university), but does it make sense to bring it back if the HDD seems to behave normally now?
