I guess I'm the one who posted this. I wrote File Synchronization. It's a
synchronization tool but it can also, of course, used to backup. However, it
is not a replacement for Retrospect. It won't let you backup your whole OS X
system disk, for example. It won't also let you backup personal folders from
other users on your Macintosh, unless their stuff is readable. It is
designed to be a personal tool, so that you can backup your own personal
stuff onto another Macintosh, hard disk partition or external hard disk, or
even an iDisk. It is a $12 shareware. You can use it up to 30 days from the
first use. During that time, there is no limit to any functionality as
opposed to other supposedly similar shareware synchronization tool.
