confounded me for a while as well.

Seems like any respectable forum shouldn't slam you for asking what may seem
like obvious questions.
But people sometimes forget how to be accomodating to their fellow people,
and sometimes a thick
skin and short memory are valuable until said people remember themselves.

On the US Qwerty keyboard, yes, the "Option" key is next to the "Command"
key. Although it might depend on the keyboard mapping you have. Since you're
using OS X in another language, maybe you have a different keyboard mapping
than the US mapping and maybe the "Option" key is not next to the "Command"
key. I think on recent keyboards, it also has the smaller label "alt".
