I have a client who needed a windoze laptop and they bought a Gateway (on my recommendation yet). They couldn't ship it configured with a memory upgrade but would ship one and I figured installing it would be no sweat. It didn't work. Niether did the replacement. Nor it's replacement. It wasn't that they were bad as far as I could tell, just the wrong type. They never could figure it out. The client ended up getting stung for some of the replacements as we had no idea which was which for the RMAs (four, one for each replacement and one for the computer). No wonder they couldn't ship it configured, they had no idea how! The client bought a Dell and they even knew how to install the memory. The funny thing was, I picked Gateway because they had lifetime support. The adds failed to mention it was useless.
