When I press cmd-shift-fn-power, the green light switches on and the fan starts spinning forever; this only stops when I press the key combination again.
I had a WS I with those symptoms that a bad PMU.
I have a WS II (even more dead) at my disposal. I remember, however, that someone on the list stated some time ago that the parts of the two series are incompatible. Is the PMU an exception, perhaps?
