I am sure this question has been asked but I could not find an appropriate solution in the archives, so I am trying here.
I have a Powerbook G4 Ti 867 on Mac OS 10.2.8 and it has a combo NOT super drive. I am trying to decide whether I need Toast software. I intend to burn data CDs. I also have a camcorder and so will be making movies or videos.
Question 1.
I assume I cannot burn DVDs even with Toast software?
Nope. A combo drive is only a DVD player
Question 2.
Do I need Toast in addition to all the CD burning software in the MacOS 10.2.8?
Maybe. You can burn VCD disks without Toast. It's probably easier, but most of the other ways are free.
Question 4.
Can you burn a movie on a CD? a video CD?
Yes you can burn VCD's on your setup. VCD Builder is one way <http://homepage.mac.com/johan/> , and here is a page describing it: <http://homepage.mac.com/rnc/> You can use iMovie to create and edit the movie, then take the output from that and make it a VCD with the tools on those pages.
