Hi Vicki, I have a wicked headache tonight, so I'm not functioning at my best. Would you mind rephrasing your questions again for me? >I tried over and over to get the card seen buy Airport and it is a no-go. Wireless operation, using anything but the Apple products, can be a real complicated bag of worms. Anybody that tells you that it can't is either A.) extremely knowledgeable; B.) extremely lucky; or C.) extremely naive. You have to have a compatible card for your OS (which you have), with the right drivers (which you have) AND right version (which we don't know), connected to a compatible router/base station (which you seem to have if things are working in OS X), with the correct firmware version (which you may or may not have). And then everything has to be configured correctly. :-) All I can tell you right now, without really understanding your initial question(s), is that the Orinoco Gold PCMCIA card works fine with the Apple Airport V2.0.4 drivers and software under OS 8.6 & OS 9 (with the exception of the AirPort Admin Utility in 8.6). I'm using that configuration on my Wallstreet as I type this. If we need to compare Apple Airport extensions for OS 9, I will be glad to do that. >specs are > >Lombard 400/ 384 ram/ 20gb hdd/ dvd/cdrw/ and Orinoco gold wi-fi card. >the mac wireless drivers work fine for the OSX partition i have also. Good job in supplying the System configuration. The only other things I would like to know is what WAP (wireless access point, router, base station) you are connecting to, and what version of the Airport software are you using in OS 9? Ah, one more pertinent question: are you using any type of encryption (like 40-bit or 128-bit WEP) with your card? There's another point I want to make about "MAC verses Mac", but I'm going to post a separate message regarding that, because it might just get lost in this reply. Please read my post with that subject. Looking forward to getting you up and running wirlessly in OS 9, Bob -- If replying privately, please include my name in the To: address, so that my filters won't send your reply to the trash. -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
